Scarborough? - No. Though I did live there for a few years when I was really young, on Statesman Square (or something like that).  Imagine that; the only other Darryl Ballantyne in the world lives half an hour from me (well, half an hour from Markham...).

What happened to your car?

Back in May 2000, I rear-ended a little red 300ZX on the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) in Toronto on my way to work at OnX.com. The amount of damage wasn't worth claiming under insurance ($700, and my deductible's $1,000) so I didn't claim it. I still haven't bothered to get it fixed, though I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually.  (Though nobody believes me that I will.  It's been over two years now, and I haven't fixed it yet...maybe I will just to spite all my doubters.)

Have you ever hit anything else?

Not cars, no. But I do have a few issues with curbs (long ago), and was broadsided once by another car (it wasn't my fault).

Do you enjoy hearing from old friends?

Of course! I love getting emails or phone calls from people I haven't heard from in months or years. I'm horrible at keeping track of people, so it's always interesting to hear what people are up to these days, since we've all grown up and entered the "real" world now - to an extent. Are you from my past? Drop me a line.

Who is your favorite musician?

This is a question I get a lot, and there's no real answer to it. I love listening to so many different artists, and have such diverse tastes, that I generally judge on a song-by-song basis. Two artists that I consistently have liked, though, are Great Big Sea and Barenaked Ladies (both Canadian, incidently).

Are you working on any new, cool projects?

Yes, definitely.

Can you tell me about them?

Nope, sorry. You'll have to wait like everyone else...or sign an NDA.

Scratch that.  I don't believe in NDAs anymore.

Do you have any siblings?

Yup. I have an older brother Chris (who works at Petro Canada), and two younger half-sisters - Lara & Robin, who are 9 and 7 respectively. You can see a great picture of the girls taken by Chris (Lara's on the bottom, Robin's on top).
